Knowledge and understanding: In its oversight of listed companies, SET regularly communicates with involved stakeholders with regard to rule issuance and revision to ensure smooth operations and to foster a better understanding of the capital market's regulatory framework. SET also regularly holds seminars and disseminates relevant information about SET rules and regulations to listed companies’ directors, management, and staff.
Compliance :
So that listed companies and stakeholders have an understanding of and can comply with SET regulations and standards for the accurate and timely disclosure of information to shareholders and investors, SET advises, consults with, and coordinates with companies and related parties such as financial advisers and legal counsel. In addition, for the benefit of stock exchange operations, SET observers may be sent to attend shareholder meetings of listed companies.
Monitoring the financial positions and operations of listed companies; providing guidelines for firms experiencing operational problems; and taking action against listed companies that are in violation of SET regulations— all these actions promote highly-rated companies which are soundly managed in line with good corporate governance. This in turn leads to enhanced investor confidence on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
